SoClean will be doubling its Peterborough staff, and employing 100 more people to staff a new call center in the former EMS warehouse building.

SoClean makes and sells automated continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) cleaning equipment. The company moved its corporate offices to the Vose Farm Road business park in Peterborough from Oxford, Massachusetts in January of 2018.

On Tuesday, the company officially purchased the former EMS warehouse, also on Vose Farm Road.

“We’re completely full,” SoClean CEO Bob Wilkins said in an interview Friday. “So we’re expanding.”

The new building will mainly be a call center for customer service, Wilkins said, but the company will also be expanding its engineering department, and eventually adding onto the building and expanding operational and executive staff.

The new space will call for about 100 new hires, Wilkins said, which will double SoClean’s staff numbers.

“Overall, we’ll have brought 200 jobs to Peterborough in two years,” Wilkins said.

SoClean is already underway with its renovations of the building, Wilkins said, and the first floor will be completed in March, at which point, the company will begin moving employees into the building. The second-floor renovations will be complete in July.

The EMS retail outlet will continue to be leased to the company and operate as usual, Wilkins said. SoClean has also offered some warehouse space to the town of Peterborough for storage for some of its departments, including the library during its upcoming temporary relocation during the renovation of the library building.

The company is currently hiring for the new positions, and will begin training new hires at its current Vose Farm facilities, and move them into the new space in March.

In November, SoClean was ranked 54 on a list of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America by Deliotte Technology Fast 500, which ranks companies in technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and energy technology.

Wilkins said the company has been growing for the past year both nationally and internationally. While other large employers in the area have been struggling to fill empty positions due to low unemployment, Wilkins said SoClean’s Peterborough facilities haven’t had that issue.

“I don’t know why, but knock on wood, we’re having no problem attracting people from surrounding areas like Hollis, New Boston, Manchester and Keene,” he said.

The company has also recruited for more specialized positions as far away as Texas, California, New York and Florida.
