The Temple Band is welcoming new members for its 2024-2025 season, with weekly rehearsals starting Monday, Oct. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Temple Town Hall.

Musicians of all ages are invited to join on Mondays throughout October, with no dues, fees, or auditions required. The all-volunteer community band, known as “America’s First Town Band,” draws members from the Monadnock and Souhegan Valley regions. Musicians with at least two years of experience on their concert band instrument are encouraged to participate.

The band rehearses from October to May, performing a variety of music, including marches, jazz, show tunes and more. Performances include 12 summer events across New England and a holiday benefit concert at Temple Elementary School on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m.

Middle and high school students can earn community service credit and compete for an annual scholarship awarded to committed graduating seniors.
