The annual Temple Harvest Festival is scheduled for this Sunday and includes community meals and a rummage sale.

The Temple Harvest Festival is sponsored by the Temple Volunteer Fire Department Association, who has been running it for about five years.

Throughout the day, craft vendors will be on the common selling their wares. There will be some live animals from local farms for a petting zoo, hayrides and maple cotton candy, maple syrup, kettle corn and lemonade for refreshments.

Ken Caisse, one of the organizers of the event, said the festival raises about $600-700 for the association, which is put towards purchases to benefit the fire department. The association has purchased class A uniforms for the department to wear during formal celebrations and funerals, as well as equipment such as a gas meter, which are useful for the department but not covered by its budget.

The day will begin with a Souhegan Lions Club pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Friendship Hall next to the Congregational Church.

The Temple Volunteer Fire Department Association will host its Famous Chicken Barbeque at noon. Buy tickets early to guarantee a meal.

A rummage and white elephant sale is scheduled from Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Temple Fire Station on Route 45. Proceeds from the sales will benefit the Temple Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

It is scheduled to be held on the common in Temple from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
