Temple voters confirmed the votes taken in March during a short Special Town Meeting on Friday.

“It was all of three minutes,” Selectman Ken Caisse said on Monday. “We explained what we were doing and why, and it was voted in the affirmative.”

The votes taken at March’s Town Meeting needed to be ratified after it was discovered the town had not followed all the noticing requirements. Though the town posted notices of the meeting in several public locations, the Temple Elementary School, where the meeting was held, was not posted as required by law.

“Absolutely, we’re not missing that one again,” Caisse said, of the error.

New Hampshire state law allows towns to hold a Special Town Meeting to confirm the votes taken during Town Meeting in the cases of a procedural error, a process Temple went through on Friday. Until the votes were officially ratified, Temple could not spend funds approved at Town Meeting.

About 20 to 25 voters turned up to vote on the single warrant during the Special Town Meeting, held at the Temple Town Hall, according to Caisse.
