First Congregational Church of Hancock, 47 Main St., will hold its Tempting Tastes celebration Saturday, Nov. 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the vestry.

Appetizers, hors d’oeuvres and desserts will accompany an auction. For $10, guests can buy tickets entitling them to sample 10 favorites from the kitchens of the town’s cooks. As they munch, auctioneer Neal Cass will encourage them to bid on a range of goods and services ranging from homemade crafts, locally made cheese and jams and produce and flowers from next summer’s gardens to gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses.

Proceeds from the tasting and auction will help support the church’s ongoing maintenance of the vestry, which is used throughout the year by both the church and the entire Hancock community.
