Harris Center hosting book launch for ‘The Book of Turtles’ May 2

The Harris Center for Conservation Education, 83 King’s Highway in Hancock, will host a bool launch for “The Book of Turtles” by Sy Montgomery and Matt Patterson Tuesday, May 2, at 6 p.m.

Turtles can climb tall fences and outperform rats in mazes, and some communicate with their mothers while still in the egg. Attendees can celebrate the diversity of the world’s more-than-300 turtle species on publication day for “The Book of Turtles,” a picture book suitable for both adults and children.

People will also be able get up close with live turtles and' purchase a signed copy of the new book. CThe Harris Center and the Hancock Town Library are co-sponsoring the event. Registration is required; visit the Harris Center website at harriscenter.org for the link.
