JaffreyPark Theatre sets Pissarro documentary

The Park Theatre, 19 Main St. in Jaffrey, will screen the documentary “Pissarro: Father of Impressionism” on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 1:30 p.m. as part of the “Exhibition on Screen” series.

Directed by David Bickerstaff, the film examines the life of Camille Pissarro, known as the “Father of Impressionism,” through his personal letters and commentary from art historians. It highlights his influence on artists like Paul Cézanne, who said, “We learned everything we do from Pissarro.” The film also explores the controversies surrounding Pissarro’s work.

Chef Carolyn Edwards’ “Lunch at The Park” will be served at noon. Pre-order details are available at parklunch.org. The series continues March 12 with a film on Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers.” Discount passes are available.
