The Town Hall Theatre, 40 Main St. in Wilton, will present a screening of the silent film “The Wind,” starring Lillian Gish, Sunday, June 11, at 2 p.m.

Jeff Rapsis will provide live music accompaniment.

Directed by Victor Sjöström and released in 1928, “The Wind” tells the story of a young woman named Letty Mason (Gish) who moves to a desolate Texas prairie, where she battles against the relentless forces of nature and confronts her own internal demons.

In 1993, the film was selected for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

While admission is free, a suggested donation of $10 will support the preservation and restoration of classic films and the continuation of such screenings in the future.

For information, contact the theater at 603-654-3456. For information about the music, visit jeffrapsis.com.
