Letter: Thanks to Peterborough Elementary

As summer vacation begins, I cannot let the end of this school year pass without expressing my gratitude for the educators at Peterborough Elementary School and all the schools across our region who poured their lives into the wellbeing of our children.

After more than a year of the COVID-19 pandemic, I wasn’t sure what to expect as my child began kindergarten at PES last fall. However, despite the precautions of masking and social distancing, my child blossomed. With the kind and compassionate support of her teachers and the school counselor, my daughter was able to learn and thrive with her peers again. I am moved to tears with gratitude.

These educators, and educators everywhere, deserve so much more than my letter of thanks. They need and deserve their communities to invest in their wellbeing. If we don’t take care of our educators, we won’t have good educators. I hope Peterborough and the surrounding towns will continue to have the backs of our schools, because it is obvious that they have ours. Thank you, PES, for an amazing school year, and thank you to educators everywhere for all you do for us.
