Greenfield Festival of Trees: Set up a tree at the Meetinghouse Friday, Dec. 3, from noon to 7 p.m. or Saturday, Dec. 4,  from 8 a.m. to noon. Display runs from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4. Trees displayed inside must be artificial; real trees can be set up outside. Cider and cookies to be served. To enter a tree, visit greenfield-nh.gov for rules and regulations and email greenfieldmeetinghouse@gmail.com with any questions.


Holiday tree lighting: Saturday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Chamberlain Free Library. Santa and Mrs. Claus will attend, and there will be carols and light refreshments.


Francestown Tree Lighting: The Francestown Improvement and Historical Society sponsors the annual lighting of the Christmas tree on the Francestown Town Common Sunday, Dec. 5. Attendees meet at the horse sheds starting at 4:30 p.m. Hot chocolate will be provided. After seasonal carols, the tree will be lit at about 5 p.m.


Holiday Trees in Peterborough: From Friday Dec. 3, through Sunday Dec. 5, a grove of 30 themed, decorated trees will be on display on the front lawn of the Peterborough Community Center. Lights will be turned on each day from 3:30 to 10 p.m.

Voting for favorites can be done in person on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice winners will be announced Sunday. Other activities will include Santa visits on Saturday and Sunday, singalongs and evening campfires on Friday and Saturday. 

Admission is free, donations for the Peterborough Food Pantry will be accepted. For information, contact the Recreation Department at 603-924-8080.


Holiday Tree Lighting: Friday, Dec. 3, on the Town Common at 7 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa: Saturday, Dec. 4, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Rindge Recreation Center.


The Southern New Hampshire Tour of Lights coordinates holiday light displays in several local towns via their recreation departments. Residents are encouraged to decorate the exterior of their homes and register their address with their participating recreation department by Monday, Dec. 6.

Each registered address will be entered into a drawing to win a gift certificate to a local business. Homes on the tour are encouraged to keep their lights shining from Saturday, Dec. 11, through Monday, Dec. 27. The address list for Southern New Hampshire Tour of Lights will be available to the public, through participating recreation departments, beginning on Saturday, Dec. 11. Participating recreation departments are Antrim, Jaffrey, Peterborough and Rindge. 


Letters for Santa: Letters for Santa will be collected through Tuesday, Dec. 14, at People’s United Bank and Jaffrey Town Library.

Christmas Tree Lighting: The town tree-lighting is set for Friday, Dec. 3, at the Jaffrey Gazebo on the Jaffrey Town Common at 6:30 p.m. Caroling from Jaffrey Grade School/Jaffrey Rindge Middle School and Conant High School Chorus. Free refreshments and Santa will arrive to meet everyone and light the tree.

Festival of Lights: Boy Scout Troop 33 will hold a Festival of Lights Friday, Dec. 10, and Saturday, Dec. 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Camp Monadnock, 257 Dublin Road, Jaffrey. The festival includes drive-through light displays created by Troop 33 Scouts. Admission is $10 per car, and tickets are available at troop-33-03452.square.site.

Craft Fair: The 40th annual Craft Fair will be Saturday, Dec. 11, at Conant High School Pratt Auditorium and JRMS Cafeteria from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 50 vendors available, and free visits from Santa  from 9 a.m. to noon. Admission is free, and masks are required. For information, contact the Jaffrey Parks and Recreation Department at 603-532-7863.


Santa and Mrs. Claus: Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting the Masonic Lodge on 2 Temple Road in New Ipswich on Dec. 5 from 9 to 11 a.m. People can bring their own cameras for photos. Christmas trees will be on sale.


Holiday Stroll: On  Dec. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Main Street Park the Wilton Main Street Association hosts the Holiday Strolland Community Tree Lighting. Santa Claus will read “The Night Before Christmas” and  light the tree.
