Two people, including a 17-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital following a two-car crash on River Street in Jaffrey Tuesday morning.

Just before 9 a.m., police responded to a report of a two-car crash with one vehicle rolled over.

According to police, a 17-year-old driver from Jaffrey was driving southbound in a 2000 Jeep Cherokee when he  drifted into the northbound lane.

Traveling in the north lane was a 2011 Nissan Rogue driven by Noah Markham, 28, of Jaffrey. The two cars met on a bend, and collided head-on when the Cherokee drifted into the opposite lane.

The Cherokee rolled and landed on its hood during the crash.

The 17-year-old driver sustained “considerable” but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police, and Markham had minor injuries. The 17-year-old was taken to UMass Memorial Hospital by ambulance, and Markham was taken to Monadnock Community Hospital for evaluation. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene by Gauthier’s Auto.
