Tyler Allgood will take the stage at Nova Arts in Keene on Friday for a livestream that will feature songs from his recently released album.

Allgood, of Bennington, spent two years putting together “Through the Empty” and will play a selection from the album during Friday night’s set. The album is an hour long, full band composition, but for the livestream “it will be a stripped down acoustic version of that,” he said.

“I prefer the full sound,” Allgood said. “But I also enjoy the solo acoustic version.”

Released on March 10, “Through the Empty” is a showcase in Allgood’s study of the guitar, piano and bass throughout his musical career. There’s a lot of different genre influences that accompany the 14-song collection, but Allgood best describes the unique style as Psychedelic Folk-Soul. He said while it’s a full band sound, the songs were written with an acoustic style in mind.

The livestream will mostly consist of songs from Allgood’s new album, but he also plans to play a couple from his 2019 release, “The Weight of Thunder,” and a newly completed single.

When the coronavirus pandemic hit, Allgood took to the livestream format, playing shows on an almost weekly basis. It’s slowed down a bit, now doing one every other month or so as he’s gotten more live gigs, but still finds it a way to connect with his followers.

He and Nova Programming Director Eric Gagne had been talking for a little while about putting together a livestream show and it worked out perfect for it to happen around the album release.

The livestream is Friday, March 19, beginning at 8:30 p.m. and will also include an interview with Allgood.
