The J Field Foundation Golf Tournament was played under blue skies at The Shattuck Golf Course in Jaffrey on Aug. 28.

Foundation President Jennifer Field of Peterborough thanked the golfers and sponsors for supporting her efforts to provide equine therapy sessions to Veterans and youth living with traumatic brain injuries.

Field sustained a traumatic brain injury in a near-fatal car accident on Route 101 in Dublin while a student at the Dublin School. She and her mother created the foundation to help others working on their TBI recovery journey.

The top team, led by Peterborough’s Betsy McMillan Gordon, finished 13 under par. Gordon’s winning foursome included her son Nick, brother Ed McMillan and his son, EG McMillan.

At 12 under were Joanne Caitlin, Joe Hart, Tim Petersen and Craig Fraser. In third place, at 11 under, were Shattuck’s Owen Houghton, James Potter, George Ruppel and Dave Fish.

Joanne Field was the platinum sponsor. The premiere event sponsor was Edward Miller. Susie and Stanley Trotman sponsored the barbecue lunch, and the beverage cart sponsor was Better Homes and Gardens, The Masiello Group in Peterborough. The Monadnock Ledger-Transcript was the media sponsor.

Hole sponsors included Waterhouse Restaurant, Baker’s Station, Depot Square, European Esthetics, Bruce Dion Carpentry, Bauhan Publishing, Cranberry Meadow Farm, Broad Oak Tree & Shrub Care. Joanne Field, Lisa Foley, Dickens Field, Kitty Cloud, Stanley Trotman, Susie Trotman, Barbara Keller and Courtland Gross.

“Because of the generosity of all of our sponsors and golfers, the J Field Foundation will award even more scholarships this year,” Field said. “We are already working on ways to grow the tournament next year, to help even more individuals, who like me, have the daily challenge of living with a traumatic brain injury.”
