No one was hurt Sunday morning after a sailboat overturned on Dublin Lake, according to Dublin Fire Chief Tom Vanderbilt.

First responders were called to the lake around 10:30 a.m. after a passerby noticed the overturned boat, according to Vanderbilt.

“It was so windy… it blew them right to us,” said Vanderbilt, who said the fire department didn’t need to deploy their boat to rescue the two people involved. “I’m not too sure they needed our help.”

Vanderbilt said neither boat passenger suffered any injuries.

“The water might have been warmer than the air,” said Vanderbilt, when asked about hypothermia concerns.

In total, emergency responders spent about 30 minutes on scene, according to Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt said he didn’t have the names of either boat passenger and was unsure if they were local or not.
