Wilton Collaborative Space will host a parol-making workshop Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the collaborative space, 21 Gregg St. in Wilton.
Sara Spittel will be leading volunteers in a free workshop to make and donate parol, star shaped lanterns which will be hung and lit in the Wilton Main Street Park this holiday season. Register by texting or calling Spittel at 603-930-0768. Another opportunity to build community and bring light to our town in the dark days of winter.
The Folk Café returns Friday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m. The event is free, and donations are appreciated. Refreshments will be served.
The café will feature the blues band Baza, which celebrates the tradition of the guitar and harmonica duo, performing original and pre-war country blues from the 1920s through the 1930s. The duo features Doug Philbrook on resonator guitar and vocals and Geof Goodell on harmonica and vocals.
