Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative Middle/High School students participated in a district-wide cleanup throughout downtown Wilton Friday morning.

Middle and high school students worked together to clean up the grounds, roadsides and other schools in the district. It was the school’s second Earth Day cleanup in conjunction with the Town of Wilton cleanup.

“It is so important for our students to give back to the community that supports them, understand that we are all responsible for keeping our environment clean, get out and get some fresh air and have some fun!” Principal Sarah Edmunds said.

In addition to this effort, WLC hosts an environmental club that recycles plastics. The school is also always looking for ways to reduce food waste. Edmunds believes this type of activity “instills a sense of responsibility and civic duty that can stay with them throughout their lives.”
