The steps to operating child care in Wilton became a bit clearer last week, and the Planning Board voted to bring the town in line with state regulations.

At Wednesday’s meeting, the board voted to be in compliance with NH HB 1567, which states that day care providers will not be subject to site plan revisions.

The bill makes this specific exception for locations of commercial child care provided they are licensed by the state.

The board also announced the acceptance of a HOP grant to update land use in town. HOP is the Housing Opportunity grant program that has allocated $7.9 million

The grant from InvestNH is for $45,307 and is aimed at promoting strategies that result in increased housing in mixed-use developments that include industrial space.

It was also announced that on Tuesday there will be public hearings on two new proposed developments in town.

Land Use Administrator Karen Case said Friday that a pre-construction hearing for a subdivision proposed by Sam-Ken Homes for Barrett Rd. will begin at 9 a.m.

At 10:30 a.m., a hearing will be held regarding Better Built Homes plans for development on Gibbons Highway. Both hearings will at the town hall.
