Ravens out of playoffs

The Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse team's 2017 season came to an end on Wednesday afternoon as the no. 8 Ravens dropped a 13-1 decision to no. 1 nationally-ranked and Northeast-10 Conference seeded Le Moyne College on Ted Grant Field in the NE10 Championship Quarterfinal. With the win, the Dolphins remain undefeated at 17-0 and the Ravens run concludes at 7-9.

Franklin Pierce returned to the NE10 Championship for the first time since the 2009 campaign and qualified for the postseason for the third time in program history. The Crimson and Grey are still looking for their first ever playoff victory. Le Moyne advanced to the NE10 Semifinals for the third consecutive season and for the sixth time in seven years.

The hosts were carried to the Semis with a trio of two score, one assist performances by Molly McGuane, Sidney Hall and Vicki Graveline. Hannah George was a stalwart in net as she stopped eight shots in the win.

For the Ravens, freshman attack Morgan Riley  broke up the shutout bid with the guests lone marker of the game at the 12 second mark as she deposited a feed from junior attack Anna Wilbertinto the cage past George.

Le Moyne's success was due to winning 11 of the 15 total draw controls. They also completed 11-of-14 clear attempts compared to the Ravens 7-of-14 effort and were 3-for-9 on free position attempts while the Ravens couldn't muster a free goal on two attempts.

In her final collegiate game goalkeeper Denise Hunt made 12 saves in a full 60 minutes of action.
