Zydeco Revelators latest act in Sundays at 4 series

On Sunday, June 27 at 4 p.m., the Old Meeting House of Francestown will host the Zydeco Revelators, a New Jersey band that will turn up the heat and bring us a little “laissez les bons temps rouler” New Orleans exuberance. The band delivers Louisiana-inspired music made up of bits of “Jambalaya” with some stompin’ cowboy zydeco classics seasoned with a dash of classic rock and jam band hot sauce.

The Zydeco Revelators are led by singer-accordionist Phil Passantino who fell in love with zydeco on a trip to Louisiana.

“We’d go up the streets to a restaurant and see amazing Cajun bands playing, and people dancing, and we really felt the culture. It was something we never experienced before... It’s fun, happy music and makes you want to get up, jump around and dance. The rhythm is infectious!” he said.

Enjoy Cajun accordion riffs backed by electric guitar, a powerhouse rhythm section, and that cool metal rub-board vest, that will have you ready to dance up a storm.

To listen to the band, search for ‘zydeco revelators’ on YouTube, or go to https://www.reverbnation.com/zydecorevelators.

Admission is $15, children under 15 are free. Guests who aren’t fully vaccinated are requested to please wear a mask. Bring lawn chairs or blankets, and enjoy lively music on the lawn. In case of rain the concert will move inside the Old Meeting House.

This event is the seventh of the “Sundays at 4” series which has brought music, art, and civic programs to Francestown. The series continues until Sept. 19.
