‘The Mercy’ screens in Jaffrey next week

Park Theatre presents sneak preview screening of new major motion picture starring Colin Firth and Rachel Weisz

A new British produced film from the Academy Award® director of “The Theory of Everything” (James Marsh) will have a sneak preview single screening at the Jaffrey Woman’s Club thanks to The Park Theatre on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m.

“The Mercy” is the true and strange story of British amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst and his attempt to win the first Sunday Times Golden Globe single-handed round the world yacht race in 1968. It stars Colin Firth, Rachel Weisz and David Thewlis. The screening also includes a taped interview with Colin Firth after the movie and an intro from the NY Film Critics Society.

Radio Times Magazine calls, it “A powerful cast and compelling true story with outstanding performances.”

The Film has received ★★★★ reviews from Empire, Daily Mirror and Total Film.

Please note that The Park Theatre is screening this film at the Jaffrey Woman’s Club at 33 Main Street in downtown Jaffrey in order to handle a larger audience for the one-time preview.

Tickets for “The Mercy” are $8 each. A discounted ticket of $7 is available for seniors, active military, students, and teachers. Group sales and private screening parties are also available.
