‘Be a Friend’ storytime

The Peterborough Town Library will begin their fall storytime series “Be a Friend” on Sept. 18. Four weekly early literacy programs for different age groups will be offered for six weeks. Registration is not required but it is encouraged families signup in order to anticipate material requirements.

Toddler Time will be held Mondays from 10 – 10:30 a.m., Sept. 18 through Oct. 23. This sing-a-long movement based program, is hosted by Peterborough resident and library volunteer Donna Fittante. This is a physical program filled with songs and play designed for children ages up to 4 years old.

Preschool storytime will be held Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., Sept. 19 through Oct. 24. The group enjoys picturebooks together and simple songs and movement are offered between stories. A simple craft is completed after each storytime. Preschoolers who enjoy sitting and listening to stories, and their caregivers, are welcome.

Baby storytime will be held Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., Sept. 20 through Oct. 25. Babies and their caregivers gather to sing songs, chant nursery rhymes, read board books and enjoy lap bounces. Babies from birth and beyond are welcome – only when children begin crawling or walking away have they outgrown baby storytime.

Big kid storytime will be on Fridays at 4 p.m. from Sept. 22 through Oct. 27. Big Kid Storytime is for kids who are in kindergarten and grade school. We read longer fairy tales and folktales, funny books and longer stories, and work on a craft each session.

All events are free and open to the public. Peterborough Town Library is located at 2 Concord St., in Peterborough. For more information on this program or any of our services, please visit PeterboroughTownLibrary.org or call 924-8040.
