Carolyn Edwards of Sunflowers restaurant in Jaffrey and singer songwriter Wendy Keith of Peterborough are putting on a special feature collaborative effort for the next monthly Notes series on Tuesday, Sept. 10 with individuals that combine both live music and spoken word.

A light buffet supper including dessert will be presented at a nominal fee beginning at 6 p.m. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

At 7 p.m. the entertainment will start with the original songs and writings of Keith. Keith has been writing, singing and recording songs for many years. Since retiring from social work in 2014, she has been writing essays and poetry and is working on a novel. She is a two time ASCAP award winner and has opened for Jesse Colin Young and the band, America. Keith has produced three CD recordings and is currently in studio creating a fourth recording of original music with her Alleged Band.

Following Keith will be poet Charles Coe of Boston, Massachusetts. Coe is the author of two books of poetry, “All Sins Forgiven, Poems for My Parents” and “Poetry on the Moon.” He is a teacher of writing, a singer, a humorist, and he plays the didgeridoo. He wrote “Spin Cycles”, a novella published by Gemma Media. He also wrote the poem, “Fortress”. This poem was the basis for a film called “Peach Pie” which has been shown at film festivals nationwide.

“Notes” takes place usually on the first Tuesday of the month. Keith and Edwards have created an opportunity for musical and spoken word artists to join together, express and represent original work.

Please call Sunflowers in advance for reservations at 593-3303.
