Project Shakespeare presents ‘Romeo & Juliet’

Project Shakespeare will present Romeo & Juliet at The Jaffrey Civic Center on Sunday, Aug. 5, prior to leaving for England Project Shakespeare was invited by the Royal Shakespeare Company to perform their 2017 production of Romeo & Juliet on Aug. 12 at their outdoor theatre, The Dell, in Stratford-upon-Avon, England.

This is Project Shakespeare’s second time performing at The Dell. In 2014, PS performed their production of Hamlet.

The Jaffrey Civic Center is located at 40 Main St., Jaffrey. Tickets are $30 for adults / $15 for students and seniors and includes pre-show food and drink (wine included) and post-show dessert. Venue opens at 5:30 p.m. Performance begins at 6 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance using a credit card by calling (603) 491-5956. Tickets may be purchased with cash or check at the door.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Project Shakespeare’s trip to England.

The cast includes: Connor Ahern, Christopher Commander, Abigail Hampson, Aidan Lanphier, Helen Martynuska, Tor Petrov, Gabrielle Ramsden, Grace Ramsden, Anna Taylor, Arianna Wentworth, Indigo Wolf and Kali Zaffrann. Deborah Shakespeare Thurber directs this production.

Project Shakespeare’s double-bill of Much Ado About Nothing and Richard III continues this weekend: Friday, Aug. 3, 6 p.m. (Richard III only) Yankee Siege Castle, 204 Forest Road, Greenfield and Saturday, Aug. 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the Jaffrey Civic Center, 40 Main Street in Jaffrey.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students and are available at the door half an hour prior to the show. If raining, outdoor performances will be moved indoors except in Greenfield.
