For the past three months, Monadnock Humane Society has partnered with the Gallery at the Offices at Depot Square and eight area artists to celebrate the visual world of animals with an exhibit “Art for Animals.”

The closing reception of the “Art for Animals” exhibit will be on Thursday, Aug. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Monadnock Humane Society is extending the drawing for the raffle to have a custom pet portrait. Make a donation of $5 (or any amount) and your name will be entered to win a pet portrait. Several of the artists displaying have donated their time to create a beautiful portrait of the pet of your choosing in their own personal artistic style. Three winners will be drawn at the closing reception. There will also be a special fundraising drive to support the 53 animals from a cruelty case that Monadnock Humane Society is caring for. More information is available at www.monadnockhumanesociety.org.

Artists will be on hand to talk about their animal inspirations. The exhibit is in the Offices at Depot Square, next door to Sharon Arts on the third floor (there is an elevator for accessibility). Live music and complimentary refreshments will be served. Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome. Children of all ages welcome. Watch for surprise animal visitors!

The event is free and open to the public.

All the artists involved are donating a portion of their sales during this show to the care of the animals of MHS.
