Hancock to tackle residents need for improved broadband

Town telecommunications committee is asking for public input on broadband needs, plans public meeting Wednesday

The Hancock Telecommunications Committee is planning to hold a special public meeting on Wednesday following the recent launch of its survey of residents’ needs for improved broadband service.

The Hancock Select Board has tasked the committee to research and report on technologies and infrastructure improvements that would bring a high standard of broadband and cell service throughout the community at competitive costs.

All residents of Hancock are invited to attend the meeting for a briefing of the committee’s work to date and for a Q&A session.

Survey forms have been placed at the Town Office, US Post Office, Hancock Library and the Hancock Market. It has also been posted on the Town website (hancocknh.org) and will be published in the November issue of the Hancock Happenings newsletter. Deadline for submissions is November 29, 2018.

The committee encourages all residents and Hancock-based business owners to complete the survey and to attend the meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Hancock Meeting House, Assembly Room.
