The Grapevine Family and Community Resource Center in Antrim invites all members of the community to attend a special presentation on child and teen anxiety with Lynn Lyons, called “Now What? Helping Children (and Parents) Manage Emotionally during Uncertain Times.”

Lyons is a psychotherapist and clinical social worker who specializes in the role of anxiety within families and the need for a preventative approach at home and in school. The online event takes place on Tuesday, June 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. and participants can register online at

The isolation and disruption during the global pandemic of the last year has sent the anxiety and depression rates among children and teens sky-rocketing. This program is intended to help families become emotionally equipped to deal with the cycle of worry and put strategies in place to ease anxiety and uncertainty.

Carol Lunan, director of The Grapevine’s Family Support Program, has seen a local need for families with anxious children.

“Many of us, maybe all, are feeling some worry and anxiety at this time in our world. Sometimes it lies just below the surface and erupts when our children whine or our washing machine breaks unexpectedly. Lynn Lyons offers a way to see and deal with the worry and a way to support our children to do the same. Her ideas are easy to relate to and it can be very helpful to know that there are others out there who understand what you are going through,” Lunan said.

This online Zoom event is open to everyone, including parents, kids, teachers, community advocates, and those beyond our community.
