On Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m., the GEP Dodge Library in Bennington and the GH Bixby Library in Francestown are co-sponsoring a Zoom program: Talking About Race: Staying Curious, Moving Forward and Being Part of the Solution.
The program will be facilitated by Allen Davis, an educator and social justice advocate. The focus will be on the experiences of three local African American residents: Claire Holston, Luis Rosa and Doug Sutherland, who have generously offered to share what it means to be an African American in the U.S. today.
Their experiences will be the starting point for an open and thoughtful conversation on race and how as a community we can learn to appreciate and understand experiences and perspectives different from our own. Participants will learn how to move forward individually and as a community to be more inclusive and compassionate.
Email or call the Bixby Library at francestownlibrary@gmail.com or 547-2730 to pre-register for this program. The meeting ID will be sent to registered participants the week before the program. Call the GEP Dodge Library at 588-6585 or the GH Bixby Memorial Library at 547-2730 for additional information.
