First Friday in downtown Peterborough will be Friday, Dec. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. and later.
Events include The Apothecary in Depot Square offering a free gift with a $50 purchase or more. In a new popup studio at 49 Union St., Lovely in the Home Press presents special guests Aleia Ramsey and Bob Petzold.
The Greater Keene and Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, 45 Main St., is joining with local businesses for the annual tree-lighting, Santa photos and cookies at 5 p.m. Santa opens the doors at the Town House, where people can get their pictures taken with Santa and have refreshments. Attendees can participate in the inaugural cookie contest, both baking and eating.
The tree-lighting is at 6 p.m., and Mountain Shadows School students will sing.
European Esthetics in Depot Square will host a 30th-anniversary open house. Owner Ellen Smith invites people to join her and the team in raising a glass to celebrate this milestone.
The Gallery at MAXT, on Voss Farm Road, will host the Small Works opening featuring local artists, refreshments and tours of MAXT. The show will be highlighting the work of more than 12 artists in the region that are showcasing their talents in a small format.
Peterborough Town Library will host an open house on First Friday at the Community Art Gallery featuring artwork by the Friends of the Peterborough Town Library for December.
