Antrim 2020 is holding is holding its final steering-committee meeting Wednesday, Jan. 25.

In previous meetings residents chose six initiatives aimed at revitalizing the Main Street economy and improving social capital and natural resources in town. The projects selected by residents included the creation of an economic development board, an assessment of business and community gathering spaces, developing a business incubator and co-working space, nature trail upkeep and signage, and a central town events sign.

Co-chair Kristen Vance said many of the groups that were formed under the steering committee are very active. She said while the groups have already hit-the-ground-running, most would likely take on new members if any residents are interested in joining.

Vance said help from the UNH Cooperative Extension has been huge for the success of the groups. She said the events have been well attended, the groups are working hard to make progress on their goals, and the Antrim 2020 website should remain active going forward.

The objective of the last steering committee meeting is to complete the UNHCE profile process, ensure its report is accurate, and to provide any additional support to the action groups. The meeting will also include updates from each of the action groups, and a decision will be made whether any of the group needs the continued support of the cooperative extension.

The last item on its agenda is to devise a follow-up plan.

All are welcome to attend the meeting.
