The Monadnock Sustainability Network has been awarded a grant from the New England Grassroots Environment Fund. This grant will support the work of the Monadnock Energy Hub, an initiative of MSN. MEH focuses on the reduction of greenhouse gasses.

This past year, MEH organized and supported a five-town Solarize Campaign, two Drive Electric Expos in Keene, a Clean Energy Forum for legislators from the region (in partnership with the Monadnock chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby) and a workshop to promote and educate local stakeholders about EV fast charger technology and infrastructure. MEH in partnership with the Cheshire County Conservation District is pursuing a CSS system for farmers and with the Monadnock Co-op is planning to install the first fast-charging station in Keene. MEH also organized meetings with nonprofits, local energy committees, and individuals that wanted to learn more.

This grant will support the continuation of these efforts as well as work on Ready for 100 percent efforts and energy efficiency in the next year. MEH campaigns like Solarize, Community Supported Solar and Drive Electric provide an initial opportunity for people to become informed and begin the process of taking action toward clean energy.
