Monadnock Humane Society (MHS) has appointed Jacques Du Preez to the newly created role of director of development and marketing. He brings more than 20 years of experience in business development and marketing, and has worked within the nonprofit sector exclusively since 2016. Du Preez has worked in both development and marketing communications, which includes collaborating with individuals, businesses, foundations, government agencies and nonprofit partners.
Du Preez comes to MHS from Essex County Habitat for Humanity in Massachusetts, where he served as the director of marketing and communications. He also worked as a consultant in marketing, fundraising and development for the High Country Humane Society in Arizona. Prior to that, he was the marketing and donor database manager at the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society in California and also was the digital marketing manager and donor relations manager for Second Chance Center for Animals in Arizona. In addition, he founded ROOISPRESSO, The Organic Rooibos Tea Company, and launched multiple brands of the product both nationally and internationally.
Executive Director Kathy Collinsworth stated, “Having someone with Jacques’ experience and talent is exactly what MHS needs at this time. Our newly created strategic plan (which will soon be available to the public) includes a core focus on the marketing communications and development work that will be needed to support the new programs and services we will be bringing to the community. Jacques also comes to the table with a strong background in technology, which will play a significant role in the success of this plan and the future of the organization. We couldn’t be happier or more excited to have him join our team!”
Du Preez will be overseeing all marketing, communications, community relations, fundraising and development for the organization, and stated, “I believe through education and community engagement, we can work together to help future generations understand the importance of making our world a better place for people and the animals we have been tasked to protect.”
Du Preez studied marketing and business management, and is also certified in creative conferencing and event management, from Damelin College in Cape Town, South Africa. He lives in Orange, Massachusetts, with his wife, daughter, two dogs, three cats, eight chickens and a gecko.
