A planned Community Conversations about building bridges, metaphorically, in the community is being rescheduled due to the Special Town Meeting on Wednesday about rebuilding a literal bridge in Peterborough.

‘Community Conversations: How do we build bridges?’ was planned to take place at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture in Peterborough on Wednesday evening.

Organizers decided on Friday that in light of the Special Town Meeting at the Peterborough Town House Wednesday evening that it would be best cancel and reschedule the Community Conversations for a to be determined date in February.

The Peterborough Special Town Meeting is planned to begin at 7 p.m. in the Upper Hall of the Town House. All Peterborough residents are invited to attend and vote. The town has been working to repair and reconstruct the deteriorating Main Street Bridge since 2006. The Special Town Meeting is taking place to ask voters to approve an increase in the project costs. In November 2019 the low bid for the project totaled $7.381 million, $781,000 over the initial $6.6 million appropriated for the project.
