Two Bennington men were recently indicted in the Hillsborough Superior Court in Manchester, one for allegedly hitting someone with his car and another for allegedly robbing someone.

Brett Flagg, 29, of Bennington, was indicted on charges of first degree assault, second degree assault, and conduct after an accident.

Flagg is accused of hitting a man with a vehicle he was driving in Bennington on June 13. The collision broke the man’s leg. After hitting the man, Flagg allegedly failed to provide information to the injured person or to the police.

Max Gershfeld, 27, of Bennington, has been charged with two counts of burglary and a count of robbery after allegedly robbing a Bennington home on June 27. Gershfeld used physical force on a victim by taking her purse, court records say.

Also indicted was Carlos Martinez-Oquendo, 42, of Dublin, who was charged with possession of a controlled drug. Martinez-Oquendo was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine in Manchester on June 13.

An indictment is a formal accusation against an individual suspected of committing a crime. It is not an indication of guilt or innocence.
