Indictments handed down for two Jaffrey-based crimes

A Rindge man has been indicted by the Cheshire Superior Court on a felony charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Timothy R. Motuzas, 24, is accused of knowingly possessing a pistol in Jaffrey on Aug. 4 after being previously convicted of a felony in the Cheshire Superior Court in 2014.

Also indicted was Matthew J. Higgins, 31, of Concord.

Higgins is accused of knowingly driving a vehicle in Jaffrey on July 2, 2017 after having been declared a habitual offender.

Driving after certification as a habitual offender is a class B felony.

Indictments are not an indicator of guilt or innocence, but show that a grand jury found there was enough evidence of a crime to bring the case to trial.
