As we head into the holiday season and the end of the year decisions about our charitable giving, I would like to encourage those who are thinking about the various charitable opportunities in the region to consider giving to “Keep Peterborough Warm.” This fund at the Town of Peterborough was set up in 2005 to make funds available for those in town who fall through the cracks of our welfare system. These “new middle” income families and elders are those who do not qualify for welfare, but cannot keep up with rising heating costs.
The Town of Peterborough distributes these funds as need arises. Since 2013, 102 recipients of this help have been counted. Please consider joining me in giving to this worthy cause: Keep Peterborough Warm Fund, Town of Peterborough, 1 Grove Street, Peterborough, NH. 03458.
