Time to do theright thing, Rindge

To the editor,

I cannot begin to express how disgusted and frustrated I feel over Rindge Police Chief Muilenberg’s resignation. That the level of malevolence generated by one individual and his cronies can have this much negative effect on the town is astonishing. It’s time for “Save Our Town” to change its name to “Cost Our Town,” since this is the result they are achieving.

The members of the Board of Selectmen and the Budget Advisory Committee were elected, and swore an oath, to work for the betterment of the entire town, and not just one rabid political agenda. It is time they remembered their oath.

Meanwhile, Jaffrey is celebrating as our chief of police can now join former Rindge Planning Director Jo Anne Carr, another victim, as one of their employees. Jaffrey knows a good thing when they see it.

My suggestion is for the Rindge Selectmen to immediately offer Chief Muilenberg a pay raise equal to or above the salary that Jaffrey is offering him. His plan was to serve Rindge until his retirement. Why not, for once, do the right thing, for Rindge?
