To the editor:
Messner spoke at the Peterborough Republican Committee’s January meeting that I attended. I liked his message of; individual liberty, equal opportunity, helping folks gain life skills, hard work and less government control. Corky found these values in New Hampshire and settled in Wolfeboro about 12 years ago. Corky’s daughter is preparing for medical school and his two sons are enrolled at West Point.
Corky described his life story in similar terms. He was a blue collar kid from Appalachia who worked hard, graduated from West Point with a B.S. in Engineering, and served as an Army Ranger. After military service Corky received a law degree from the University of Denver. He went on to found his own law firm with 9 offices, 100 attorneys and 200 total employees. The firm is quite diverse with 57 percent women and 27 percent minorities.
As Senator, Corky wants to apply his hard working, common sense, problem solving skills to address healthcare, national security, border security, middle class growth and debt reduction. Corky said he is Pro-Life, Pro-Second Amendment and supports President Trump’s efforts to keep America safe, improve trade, grow the economy and provide equal opportunity for every American to live the American Dream.
Corky realizes the future of America is vested in the next generation. To that end the Messner Foundation provides scholarships to high school seniors with diverse backgrounds.
Messner’s well rounded and diverse background coupled with his spirit of equal opportunity and hard work make him an excellent choice to serve New Hampshire in the United States Senate.
