O’s, Vikings, Cougars all compete

Conant, Mascenic and ConVal all competed separately in indoor track action last weekend.

ConVal was at the Dartmouth Relays, where Evan Coyne took third in the 1,00M run in 2:41.43 and Clare Veverka was 7th in the 2-mile run in 11:31.19.

The Cougars also went to Plymouth on Saturday, where they put together a trio of wins and some top-five finishes.

Senior Rhiannon Bell continued an impressive shotput season with a first-place toss of 29’6”, nearly a foot-and-a-half more than her closest competitor.

Junior Rachel Hurley won the girls’ 3,000M run in 11:03.87 and took fourth in the 600M.

Sarah Newell was 4th in the 1,000M run with Hailey Doherty in 5th.

Savanna Hall was 5th in the 55M dash.

For the boys, Harrison Kim turned in a pair of fifth-place finishes in the 1,500M and 3,00M runs.

Finn Wegmueller was 5th in the 300M dash.

Senior Ryan Murray took second in the shotput with a throw of 38’5”.

The boys also won the 4x200 relay.

Conant took their team to UNH on Sunday, where a pair of freshman went 1-2 in the 3,000M. Matt Bernier was first and Ethan Weinhold second.

Senior Jordan Banish won the 55M hurdles in 9.94.

Junior Isabella Mormando was second in the 600M run.

Senior Lily Bennett took third in the 3,000M.

Mascenic was also at UNH Sunday. Freshman Landen Vaillancourt won the 1,500M in 4:39.14. Eighth-grader Victoria Smith was the top runner for the girls, finishing sixth in the 1,500M.
