Remembrance Day concert on Sunday in Peterborough

Saturday, November 10, 2018 2:3PM

Remembrance Day, first observed throughout the United Kingdom on Nov. 11, 1919, commemorated the end of World War I. Our own Veterans Day observances in the U.S. are modeled on those of Remembrance Day.

To mark Remembrance Day 2018, the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice, the All Saints' Church choir will sing a choral evensong, not to celebrate war or praise death, but to “remember” the vow of their baptismal covenant: to strive for justice and peace among all people.

The choir will sing music of Stephen Paulus, Gerald Near, and H. Balfour Gardiner.

Choral evensong will take place at 5 p.m. at All Saints’ Church, 51 Concord St., Peterborough. A reception will follow in Reynolds Hall. It is free and all are welcome to attend.

For more information call the church office at 924-3202 or visit www.allsaintsnh.org.
