Letter: Dismissals and spines

Tennessee expelled two black male legislators April 6 who protested the March killings of three young students and adults at a Nashville school. These legislators wanted gun control laws and the legislature would not tolerate such actions. The third legislator, who is a white female, was not expelled from the legislature but placed under sanctions. Being Black gets one thrown out the door while being white is tolerated, to keep the rest of the white people calm? Our children being killed in an ongoing basis across this country is an atrocity.

The NRA and gun producers are not tolerant of the view that their weapons are not socially compatible. Guns have gone beyond means to obtain food and sensible protection for one's home and family. Martial law is the deemed headquarters for our country. Never mind that our future generations are being programmed to either die or become militant. It is so easy to say a mentally ill person or a trans person is the fault or someone who was seen but overlooked in their symptoms rather than look at the solutions. Limiting access to weapons is seen as ceasing one's power and rights instead of solving our country's dilemma.

When are our lawmakers going to have the strength and resolve to face this massive confrontation of supposed rights, declaration of power and almighty profits? Find your spines and face reality of the destruction of our society.
