Letter: Parade was a fun experience

The St. Patrick's Day parade in Jaffrey had a large and fun crowd and chilly but sunny weather. Cars were from out-of-state as well as from here. Those in the parade put on good performances with many smiles and laughter. Music flowed from students and adults. Student bands and old-time military groups marched, as well as bagpipes. Floats and vehicles carrying passengers to heavy fire department and highway crew greeted us. Parade members got off and out of vehicles to walk in front holding banners when they saw how many people lined the sidewalks. Candy was tossed by children and adults, even an occasional  T-shirt arrived.

Steve Jackson, CEO and managing director of The Park Theatre, did a great job contributing to making a fun afternoon event. Upon entry into theater, greeters welcomed with programs and answered questions pertaining to the afternoon. Tours by Eleanor of the theater, lounge area for drinks and warmth/resting and snacks, including from a hot food machine outside, welcomed everyone to partake. Use of the bathrooms was a big convenience.

This week is busy with events at The Park Theatre, and Steve asks everyone to support the parade's sponsors from Belletetes to James Thomas Salon to Park Theatre to 103.7 WKNE-FM to Hobbs Jewelers to Coopershill and beyond. Check with one business and ask them to direct you to others.

Park Theatre is welcoming and looks forward to your participation in events held there, from movies to music performances to open mics to an assortment of speakers and special events. Join the crowd and let Steve Jackson make The Park Theatre the happening place.
