Letter: Join vigil seeking peace in Ukraine

Published: 02-21-2023 9:00 AM

Almost one year ago, the Russian invasion of Ukraine began on Feb. 24, 2022. On Friday, Feb. 24, there will be a community-wide vigil held on the front lawn of the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse, 25 Main St., from 4:30 to 5 p.m., to mark this somber one-year anniversary. The vigil will include silent reflection, music from the Handbells of Peterborough and the tolling of the PUUC steeple bell.

It is important to pause and remind ourselves of the innocent victims of this senseless Russian aggression, even as we are bombarded with news of other national, global and local crises. Join us in spirit if you cannot be there in person, as we offer our shared plea for peace and justice in Ukraine.
