William Simard qualified for the Nov. 4 Meet of Champions at Alvirne High School in Hudson. The course will be the same as for the Battle of the Border earlier this season, where Simard finished sixth in the 5,000-meter race Oct. 7.

ConVal’s William Simard qualified for the Meet of Champions race on Nov. 4 by finishing 12th in the state meet Saturday at Derryfield Park in Manchester with a time of 17 minutes, eight seconds.. 

The boys placed 15th overall. After Simard, Nathan Klonel (20:29), Marcus Jordan (20:49), Mason Deschenes (21:10), Jake Alonso (21:50), Vincent Hollenbeck (23:31) and Sean Witt (31:46) made up the Cougars’ lineup. 

The girls also finished 15th overall. Whitney Adair led the team with a 50th place finish (24:40). Liza Petrov (28:04), Sara Mackie (30:50), Kyra Lavole (33:08), Selena Woodhouse (35:36), Brielle Proctor (34:41) and Sarah Brace (37:53) all competed for the Cougars.
