The ConVal softball team only has five returning players this season, so head coach Amanda Hinton stated that hard work and dedication to learning new positions will be a main focus.

Hinton stated that junior Avery Moore will be commanding the field for the Cougars behind the plate, as the lefty hitter will be one of the team captains. Freshman Sydney Borges will be on the mound for the Cougars, According to Hinton, “she has poise and command of her pitches, and she is going to help the team tremendously both offensively and defensively.”

“The Cougars’ goal is to learn about softball, work hard and hopefully make it back to the playoffs,” Hinton stated.

ConVal will scrimmage with Monadnock Regional High School April 2 at The Hampshire Dome in Milton before opening the regular season at home against John Stark Regional High School April 10.
