The Dublin Select Board met Monday, April 22, at 4:30 p.m. In attendance were Town Administrator Kate Fuller, administration assistant Pam Celko, Select Board members Susan Peters and Carole Monroe and board Chair Chris Raymond.

The meeting began with Road Agent Roger Trempe giving his report to the board. The crew is now working four 10- hour days and has competed the first grading of all dirt roads, but it is too wet to do ditches.

Trempe reported that as the Fire Department got new radios, the Highway Department has their old ones. All trucks and vehicles are now equipped for communication. The department has also set up a secondary communication site at the town garage, to be used if the main communication site at the fire station should be compromised or unavailable in an emergency.

Trempe noted that the supply of both road salt and sand are very high, because of the mild winter.

Select Board members and Trempe discussed the $212,000 in paving funds appropriated at Town Meeting. The town has received two bids and will wait a few more days  before final selection. Paving will not be scheduled until July, as Goldmine Road has traffic from two schools.

They also discussed the report of a failed head wall on Lake Road and what repair will be needed. Funding may be available from state bridge monies.

Police Chief Timothy Suokko gave his monthly report to Select Board, presenting a report on activity to date this year. He said activity is similar to last year thus far – 19 investigations/incidents, seven crash investigations, 26 arrests, 310 traffic stops (97 citations and 213 warnings), four town ordinance tickets and 262 other calls for service.

The newly contracted prosecutor has started work, and Suokko said this seems to be going well. Dublin Police Department has two new electronic roadside signs warning drivers about speed. These are reported to be effective. They can also be programmed to warn of road conditions.

The Police Department will participate in a drug take-back at the police station Saturday, April 27.

The central air conditioning at the Police Department has not been working optimally. A repair has been made, and the equipment will be monitored for need to replace next year.

The board reviewed and approved minutes from public and non-public meetings held on April 1, and approved appointments to the 2024 Joint Loss Management Team.

The board confirmed Carole Monroe as Select Board appointee to the ConVal Feasibility Study Committee. It was noted that there have been a lot of school-related meetings recently, and some of the residents involved are also serving on other town committees and boards. The board encourages town residents to consider offering assistance and participating in these committees and boards.

The board prepared to go in to a non-public meeting at approximately 5:30 p.m.
