Steve Duprey, president of Foxfire Property Management and the Duprey Companies, has been appointed chair of Franklin Pierce University’s board of trustees.

"On behalf of the entire university, we are excited to announce Mister Duprey's appointment as chair of the board of trustees," stated college President Kim Mooney. “Since his election to the board in 2021, Mister Duprey's unwavering dedication and deep-seated expertise have made his rise to chair an expected and welcomed progression. His esteemed public service record, extensive business acumen, along with a fervent drive to enhance educational opportunities for our Ravens, will significantly and positively influence the direction of Franklin Pierce University.”

In 1981, Duprey founded Foxfire Property Management Company, a commercial and residential property management company based in Concord. Foxfire currently operates as a subsidiary of the Duprey Companies, a real estate organization that oversees property management, real estate development and hotel ownership management subsidiaries, including the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.

Duprey currently serves as president of the board of trustees for the Currier Museum of Art, vice chairman of the board of directors of the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority and sits on the board of directors of the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce. He has more than 25 years of volunteer service to local and state organizations and commissions, including the Capitol Center for the Arts, the New Hampshire Historical Society, the Red River Theatre, the Carroll County YMCA and the New Hampshire YMCA, as well as the Concord Conservation Commission and the Governor’s Interagency Task Force on Homelessness. In 2022, Gov. Chris Sununu appointed him to lead the Pease Development Authority, and earlier this year, he was named Business Leader of the Year by Business NH Magazine.

“Being appointed as chair of the board of trustees at Franklin Pierce is a privilege that comes with a profound commitment,” Duprey stated. “I look forward to collaborating closely with our community to chart a path forward that not only focuses on student success but also ensures the long-term sustainability of our university.”

A native of North Conway, Duprey was elected to the state’s House of Representatives at the age 19, making him the youngest state legislator in the country at the time. He earned his undergraduate degree in public policy from New College of Florida in Sarasota, graduating in 1974. Duprey received his juris doctor from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, N.Y., in 1978, becoming a partner at Sulloway, Hollis & Soden, now known as Sulloway & Hollis, in Concord, until 1986. Duprey has previously served in both state and national roles for the Republican Party of New Hampshire, including as chair from 1992 to 1995 and from 1997 to 2001.
