The Park Theatre’s art film documentary series “Exhibition on Screen” presents “Easter in Art” Wednesday, March 13, at 1:30 p.m.

The story of Christ’s death and resurrection has dominated Western culture for the past 2,000 years. It is recounted by the Gospels but also by artists – from the triumphant to the savage, the ethereal to the tactile.

“Easter in Art” explores the Easter story as depicted in art, from the time of the early Christians to the present day. Shot on location in Jerusalem, United States and throughout Europe, the film explores the different ways artists have depicted the Easter story through the ages. Artists in the documentary include Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Michelangelo, Rubens, Titian and Dali. The documentary is directed by Phil Grabsky (“Frida Kahlo,” “Young Picasso,” “I, Claude Monet”).

Lunch at The Park, a light lunch catered by Carolyn Edwards, begins at noon. People can pre-order lunch at theparktheatre.square.site.

Tickets are $15. People can purchase tickets in advance at theparktheatre.org. For information, call the box office at 603-532-8888.

The Park Theatre is at 19 Main St. in Jaffrey.
