Editorial – A need for answers

We’re a month away from the ConVal reconfiguration vote, and it seems there are more questions than answers. We need answers if we’re to confidently cast a vote.

We know that something needs to be done. But what is the best path forward?

What is the full impact of charter schools on the district? What if that increases should charter schools purchase one or more of the four school buildings?

What would the financial impact be if one or several of the towns leaves the district entirely?

Are there people in the ConVal administration who have run these numbers and can discuss these impacts? Are there district residents who have new perspectives, data, insights or information that could answer these questions?  If so,submit your 700 to 750 word piece to news@ledgertranscript.com. Or, if you’d like to comment on issues that have already been part of the debate, submit your 300-word letter to the editor until March 5.
