National Theatre Live captures David Tennant’s return to the stage as John Halder, a literature professor who gradually rises through the ranks of the SS, in “Good,” the next installment of Peterborogh Players’ Arts on Screen series at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 4 p.m.

Tennant’s performance is supported by Olivier Award winner Elliot Levey and Sharon Small. Set in 1933 Germany, on the brink of World War II, “Good” charts the moral collapse of Halder.  Lured by the party’s flattery, Halder’s vanity blinds him to his slide into Nazism. He makes a series of decisions that gradually, almost imperceptibly, allow him to do the party’s work without considering himself a fascist. Insisting that he does not buy into anti-Semitic ideology, he deludes himself about the consequences of his actions and condones his behavior as self-preservation.

Single tickets and ticket packages are available for purchase by calling the box office at 603-924-7585 or visiting peterboroughplayers.org. The Peterborough Players box office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and two hours before show times. The theater is at 55 Hadley Road.
