Letter: Thanks for helping Operation Santa

Published: 01-26-2023 9:00 AM

Operation Santa, a project of the Rindge Woman's Club (RWC), completed its 35th year by helping 56 children from 23 families have a wonderful Christmas.

We are grateful for "giving tree" sponsors TD Bank in Rindge, Ingalls Memorial Library, Walmart of Rindge and Verizon at Cheshire Marketplace. Hundreds of kind people selected tags and provided clothing and toys.

P.O.O.R. (Pumpkin Organization of Rindge) provided funds for winter coats, boots or ski pants. Franklin Pierce University (FPU) staff and students, under the direction of Paul Jenkins, made sure children received books in their areas of interest. Market Basket managers of Rindge collected money for food gift cards. The Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary, Jaffrey-Rindge Lions and local residents allowed us to increase the value of the food gift cards.

The FPU accounting department adopted a family, as did West Rindge United Methodist Church and John and Lynda Hunt. Brenda Lashua, through MilliporeSigma’s community outreach initiatives, was invaluable. The program couldn't have happened without elves from the RWC.

Operation Santa thanks everyone who helped make these children and families happy.
